Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie in Weilburg

On 31st August 2013, Stephanie and her husband Guillaume visited Weilburg, a city in the German area of Hesse. The visit coincided with the 300th anniversary of the Bürgergarde Weilburg, the civil guard founded upon the wedding of Duke Wilhelm of Nassau, great-great-great grandfather of the current Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

Luckily the wonderful Sydney from Luxurazzi attended the event and managed to get the beautiful pictures which feature in this post. You can see them here. Do make sure to check out the rest of her fantastic blog, which our co-Editor Heaven has contributed to very recently.

The couple were greeted by local dignitaries before making their way in to picturesque nearby gardens. They were greeted by special guests who have all contributed to the local area. The couple were warmly received and made a great impression on everyone in attendance.

After that they were given an official, private tour of Schloss Weilburg, a castle in the area which hosts a museum and regular cultural events.

Stephanie was wearing a blue lace dress by Diane Von Fustenberg. DVF is popular with royals from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg (the Benelux nations) as Diane is a Belgian born former princess herself.

I’ve managed to identify what I think is a pretty great copycat but without the high price tag of a DVF piece. It’s a vibrant blue lace dress from KISS: Keep it Simply Stylish. It has ¾ sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. It’s in limited sizing so I’d pick it up quickly, especially as it’s on sale for just £16 ($19.95).
