Double take! A look at the dresses both Princess Madeleine and Princess Marie have worn
Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Princess Marie of Denmark have given us a double take with two outfits over the years. They have both worn a white BCBG gown and a light blue floral dress by Erdem. Let's take a look at the events they wore these to:
Princess Madeleine:
Madeleine wore the white gown by BCBG first in New York City on October 17, 2011, at the Angel Ball that took place at Cipriani Wall Street. It was in benefit of the Gabrielle's Angel Foundation. She was also wearing a black short-sleeved cape fur sweater from By Malina.
Naomi Campbell was honored during the event; others in attendance were Demi Moore, Tommy Hilfiger, and Kim Kardashian.
The Princess followed in Princess Marie's footsteps in wearing the floral, asymmetrical dress, just a few months later at the Te Deum service for her sister, Crown Princess Victoria's 40th birthday at the Royal Chapel of Stockholm Palace on July 14, 2017. Madeleine was also in a light blue Philip Treacy hat and matching pumps that are still UFOs.
Princess Madeleine and her family were first to arrive. In attendance were the King, Queen, Victoria, Prince Daniel, Princess Estelle, Prince Oscar, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Prince Alexander, Madeleine, Chris O'Neill, Princess Leonore and Princess Nicolas.
Princess Marie:
Marie was the first to wear the light blue dress; she wore the long-sleeved floral dress by Erdem at a "Make a Wish Foundation" charity dinner with her husband, Prince Joachim in Copenhagen in April of last year. She wore a black coat and matching Jimmy Choo sparkling black heels with the dress. She wore a pair of dangling earrings, as well, that were first seen during the gala dinner in March 2017 for the King and Queen of the Belgians.
Heaven provided insight last year on the event held in Copenhagen saying, "The Make-A-Wish Foundation was created 18 years ago in Denmark and has fulfilled 1700 ill children's wishes since then. The Foundation raised 620000 Danish Kroner during the auction."
The Princess wore the white BCBG gown (featuring ruffling on the skirt and a black belt) during the gala dinner during Slovakia state visit in 2012 at Fredensborg Palace. The gala dinner, full of tiaras, took place on the evening of the first day of the state visit. Along with her Order of the Elephant sash, she was wearing her normal Diamond Floral Tiara.
Others in attendance included Queen Margrethe, Prince Henrik, Princess Benedikte, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, and Prince Joachim. The state visit took place from October 23-24, 2012, with Her Majesty and Prince Henrik extending an invitation to Slovakia's President Ivan Gašparovič and his wife, Silvia Gašparovičová.
Marie had been off of maternity leave for a good while as she gave birth to her second child, Princess Athena just ten months before in January.
Sadly, we do not have the rights to any photos from the state visit, but you can see the images here.
