The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge start official visit to Ireland

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge started their three-day official visit to Ireland which is their first to the country.

After their arrival at Dublin Airport, they were welcomed by President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin, his official residence. The couples were joined by the British Ambassador to Ireland and the Irish Ambassador to Britain for tea. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also met the couple’s Bernese Mountain dog Bród before ringing the Peace Bell which was designed in 2008 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Belfast Agreement.

Afterward, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to the Garden of Remembrance where they laid a wreath. The Garden is dedicated to all those who gave their lives in the cause of Irish freedom.

For their last day event, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge then met Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and his partner Matt Barrett.

In the evening, William and Kate attended an official reception hosted by the British Ambassador at the Guinness Storehouse’s Gravity Bar.

For the day events, Kate debuted a new bespoke Catherine Walker green coat with an Alessandra Rich dress. She paired the outfit with her Emmy London pumps, the LK Bennett ‘Dora’ clutch and new earrings by Asprey London as well as a black headband.

For the evening reception, Kate wore a new emerald dress by The Vampire’s Wife. She also debuted Manolo Blahnik dark green pumps and carried her Wilbur & Gussie gold clutch. Her earrings are from H&M and she first wore them in 2018.
