Regal Review: The Wedding of Prince Albert & Princess Charlene - Religious Wedding
Following their civil wedding ceremony the day before, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene’s religious wedding ceremony took place on 2 July 2011 at the Princely Palace of Monaco.
After the ceremony, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene went to the Sainte-Dévote Chapel where Princess Charlene left her bouquet. Then, they went back to the Princely Palace by car and had the opportunity to greet the crowd waiting for them in the streets.
Princess Charlene wore an Armani Privé wedding gown. Giorgio Armani designed an off-white column gown in duchess silk satin with a fully-embroidered, 5-meter long train that cascades from the crossover neckline. The floral embroidery on the gown was made of 40,000 Swarovski crystals, 20,000 mother of pearl teardrops, and 30,000 gold stones. Princess Charlene did not wear a tiara but she wore diamond flower hairclips in her updo instead.
