Regal Review: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's 2011 California Visit - Day 1

Following their successful Canada tour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ended their North American visit by spending three days in Los Angeles.

They arrived in Los Angeles on the afternoon of 8 July 2011 following their departure in Calgary, Canada. They were welcomed at Los Angeles International Airport by California Governor Jerry Brown, his wife Anne Gust, British Ambassador Sir Nigel Elton Sheinwald, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

Afterward, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a ‘Tech City’ conference at the Beverly Hilton Hotel to support U.K. trade and investment, as ‘Tech City’ is the UK equivalent to the Silicon Valley.

In the evening, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a reception hosted by British Consul-General Dame Barbara Hay at her Hancock Park residence with the Governor and the Mayor of California in attendance as well.

For their arrival in Los Angeles, Catherine wore a Roksanda grey shift dress with her Jimmy Choo pumps and LK Bennett clutch. She also wore her Kiki McDonough earrings and Tiffany & Co bracelet.

For the evening reception, Catherine wore her green Diane von Furstenberg dress with her LK Bennett pumps and Diane von Furstenberg clutch. She also wore Cassandra Goad earrings.
