King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visit North Limburg
Today, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the municipalities of Venlo, Bergen, and Venray in the region of North Limburg.
In Venlo, the couple visited Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo where entrepreneurs, scientists, and students work together to research healthy and safe food, future farming, and bio-circular economy. The goal of North Limburg is to become the healthiest region in the Netherlands.
In Tegelen, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the rehearsal of the Passiespelen and a few actors and employees speak. The Passiespelen are organized every five years by an artistic team and more than 400 local volunteers.
In Bergen, the royal couple walked through the forest of De Hamert estate, part of De Maasduinen National Park, where they learned more about the work of the employees.
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima concluded their visit in Venray where they attended a roundtable discussion with professionals about the taboos surrounding mental health and how the professionals support young people in tackling them. Then, they met young people who took part in the pilot of the game TABOEIEND Experience of the Dare to Ask foundation, which teaches them to break through taboos around mental health.
Queen Maxima wore her Oscar de la Renta coat with a new Oscar de la Renta dress (with thanks to ModeKoninginMaxima). She also wore her green Gianvito Rossi pumps with a green clutch and a green hat. As usual, she wore her Dinh Van bracelet.
