In her speech, Crown Princess Victoria said: “Astrid Lindgren was definitely one such gifted author. Her delightful stories, with their strong message of humanity, have been read and cherished by generations of children around the world. […] Dear laureates, your work helps children develop their language, their creativity, and their empathy. I personally can't think of a more important gift to pass on to coming generations.”

Crown Princess Victoria wore her & Other Stories dress with her H&M silver sandals and Abro silver clutch. Paying homage to Astrid Lindgren, she wore Pippi Longstocking earrings by Maria Nilsdotter and a horse necklace by Maria Nilsdotter. She also wore her usual stack of bracelets and her Epoch watch.
