Spanish royal family attends 2020 & 2021 Princess of Girona Awards
Today, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia were in Barcelona to attend the 2020 & 2021 Princess of Girona Awards.
In the early afternoon, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, and their daughters attended a meeting with winners of the previous editions of the Princess de Girona awards.
Before the award ceremony, King Felipe held a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation. Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia then joined them for a group photo.
The royal family then attended the ceremony where Princess Leonor handed out the 2020 & 2021 awards. The 2020 winners are Guillermo García López (Arts & Literature), Pepita Marín Rey-Stolle (Business), Ruben Darío Costa Riquelme (Scientific Research), Guillermo Martínez Gauna-Vivas (Social), and Boyan Slat (International).
The 2021 winners are María Sánchez (Arts & Literature), Lucía Goy Mastromiechele (Business), César de la Fuente Núñez (Scientific Research), Ousman Umar (Social), and Juan David Aristizábal (International).
Princess Leonor also made a speech during the award ceremony in which she said: “Your talent and work deserve all the recognition. And the values that you represent are very necessary, especially for my generation. Effort, solidarity, enthusiasm, capacity for initiative, and self-improvement. All of this defines you and helps you improve. And you improve us all as a society. "
For the afternoon meeting, Queen Letizia wore her Carolina Herrera dress with her Carolina Herrera camel slingback pumps. She also wore her TOUS earrings and her Karen Hallam gold ring.
Princess Leonor wore a new Mango dress with Pretty Ballerinas loafers. Infanta Sofia wore a new Springfield dress with her Carolina Herrera ballet flats (with thanks to @letizia_de_princesa_a_reina).
For the ceremony, Queen Letizia repeated her Nina Ricci dress with her Magrit sandals. She paired the outfit with her Bulgari earrings and Karen Hallam gold ring.
Princess Leonor wore a new dress by Bgo & Me (with thanks to Nuria) with her Mathildas red ballet flats. Infanta Sofia wore a new dress by Sfera with new ballet flats by Carolina Herrera (with thanks to Nuria).
