Norwegian Crown Prince Couple's official visit to Viken County - Day 2

Today, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit spent their second day in Viken County for their annual county trip. They visited Våler and Moss.

In Våler, Crown Prince Haakon first met with some of the village’s volunteers at Bergtunet to hear about their work.

Afterward, he was joined by Crown Princess Mette-Marit for their stop at Idrettsplassen. Crown Prince Haakon got the opportunity to try his hand at darts football in front of his wife and the school children. Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit also met Karime, Rohollah, Fazlollah, and Roya for a conversation over a cup of tea. The four siblings from Afghanistan came to Norway as quota refugees in 2016.

In her speech during the visit, Crown Princess Mette-Marit said: “One of the most important things for us humans is to have a place we can call ours. A place we love that we can call home. And the home  - that's where the heart is. Every time we visit our country, we experience that the people we meet are happy in their hometown. We have also noticed this clearly here in Våler.”

The couple then traveled to Moss where their first stop was the Skoggata care home. The Crown Prince couple met with residents in the sensory garden before they toured the care home.

Just like yesterday, Crown Prince Haakon attended the last event of the day solo as Crown Princess Mette-Marit rested. He visited Gallery F15 where he learned more about the gallery's work to convey art to children and young people.

In the evening, Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit hosted a reception at Restaurant Værk in Fredrikstad where their country trip will end tomorrow.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a new Gabriela Hearst overshirt with a white knit top and a grey skirt. She also wore her Gabriela Hearst boots and Pomellato earrings. In the evening, Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore her traditional bunad.
