Spanish State Visit to Germany - Day 2
On Monday, King Felipe and Queen Letizia spent their second day in Germany. King Felipe and Queen Letizia were first officially welcomed by the President of Germany and the First Lady at Bellevue Palace.
Afterward, the Royal Couple signed the guest book before attending private meetings with the Presidential Couple.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia then went to the Neue Wache where they laid a wreath. The Neue Wache is a memorial for the victims of war and tyranny.
In the afternoon, King Felipe visited the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society and met with Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
In the evening, the Presidential Couple hosted a gala dinner for King Felipe and Queen Letizia at Bellevue Palace.
King Felipe made a speech in which he said: “Spain and Germany share a vision of an increasingly integrated EU. For our countries, the Union has been and continues to be a community with a shared future that has helped us overcome very difficult historical experiences and find the path to modernity: the path to democracy, freedom and the rule of law. The two countries are fully committed to a sovereign and strong Europe, capable of fully assuming its responsibilities in an international society in which those values and principles that I mentioned before are increasingly questioned.”
Queen Letizia first wore a Carolina Herrera dress (with thanks to Nuria) with Magrit accessories, her Bulgari earrings, and her Karen Hallam ring.
For the gala dinner, Queen Letizia wore her Stella McCartney dress with Jimmy Choo sandals (with thanks to @LetiziaLook), her Magrit clutch, and her Karen Hallam ring.
