The Prize supports initiatives that make socially vulnerable children and young people more verbal and resilient as well as initiatives that stimulate entrepreneurship among young people. This year’s winner is the non-profit Brake-Out which connects young people with disabilities to students of the AP Hogeschool to help them find an internship.

In her speech, Queen Mathilde said: “Collaborating and reinforcing each other are skills that can be learned early on and will prove useful throughout life. And this is how young people gradually learn to manage constraints, leadership, risks, differences, and points of convergence. They identify opportunities and strive to seize them and translate them into concrete projects. But to do that, you must first know yourself and know what you want to bring to others."
