Luxembourg National Day: Visits to Lellingen & Esch-sur-Alzette
On Wednesday, the eve of Luxembourg’s National Day, the Grand Ducal couple and the Hereditary Grand Ducal couple respectively visited Lellingen & Esch-sur-Alzette.
In Lellingen, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended an official ceremony before touring the village.
They also celebrated the opening of the 30th “Open Air Konstfestival” where they met artists at the “Schmattscheier”, the “Konstgalerie” and the “Hencksescheier”.
To end the festivities, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa took a walk with the town councilors, schoolchildren, members of clubs and associations, artists, and citizens of the village.
In Esch-sur-Alzette, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie first took part in a wreath-laying at the War Memorial before attending a reception at City Hall.
The Hereditary Grand Ducal couple also watched a parade and toured the “Escher Volleksfest” during which they meet with the crowds.
The festivities ended with the kindling of the campfire by the Luxembourg scouts. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume is Chief Scout of Luxembourg.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a Taller Marmo top with purple trousers, black pumps, and Peruffo jewels.
Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore an Anne Fontaine top with her Max Mara trousers and her Cartier watch.
