Queen Silvia opens the new Ersta Hospital in Stockholm
On Tuesday, Queen Silvia opened the new Ersta Hospital in Stockholm. The new hospital provides specialist care in surgery and anesthesia, medicine, and palliative care for children and adults, as well as x-rays, rehabilitation, and primary care.
Queen Silvia cut the ribbon at the entrance of the hospital and toured the new building. She had broken the ground for the new hospital building in 2019.
Queen Silvia also met staff and patients before making the opening speech. She said: “Ersta's ambition and will is to, based on the diaconal mission, provide care of the highest quality, based on science and carried out with heart. Ersta's mission is to serve people in vulnerable situations, and what could be more important? I am glad that there is an idea-driven actor in health and social care who dares to invest in the future in the way that Ersta Diakoni does.”
Queen Silvia wore a repeated suit with her Vesna W blouse, her Hermes bag, and her Cartier bracelet.
