Belgian State Visit to South Africa - Day 4
On Sunday, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde spent their fourth day in South Africa. They spent part of the day in Philippi Village, a former cement factory converted into a recreational, cultural, and entrepreneurial center in the township of Philippi.
Afterward, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014. It is run by the South African National Institute for Biodiversity which receives support from the Flemish government.
During the visit, King Philippe handed over two extremely rare breadfruit trees to Kirstenbosch, which were raised at the Botanic Garden Meise.
Queen Mathilde first wore her Marie Méro dress with Penelope Chilvers wedges. She paired the outfit with her Longchamp sunglasses, her Christine Bekaert earrings, and her Rolex watch.
Queen Mathilde then wore a Caroline Biss dress and belt (with thanks to GardeRobeRoyale) with her Tod’s loafers. She also wore her Longchamp sunglasses, her Sézane earrings, and her Rolex watch.
