King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visit Västmanland County
On Thursday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited Västmanland County as part of King Carl-Gustaf’s Jubilee celebrations. They first visited Västerå's concert hall where a cultural event was organized in the concert hall to celebrate King Carl Gustaf’s jubilee.
In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “This is how it is - wherever we go on our travels. You are reminded of how each part of Sweden is significant to the rest of the country. And you are reminded of the threads backwards. Every place has its history - which is also part of Sweden's history. It is my ambition to always try to draw attention to both of these things: how we who live in different parts of Sweden belong together - and how today's Sweden was shaped by history. That is what we are celebrating this anniversary year.”
Afterward, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia walked to Västerås Castle where the Governor hosted a lunch for the Royal Couple.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia then visited the Västmanland County Museum where they saw the photo exhibition Carl XVI Gustaf – 50 years for Sweden as well as some of the museum's other exhibitions.
Queen Silvia wore a pink and purple outfit with black boots and her Hermes bag.
