King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visit Blekinge County
On Thursday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited Blekinge County as part of King Carl-Gustaf’s Jubilee celebrations.
In Karlskrona, they first visited the Blekinge Museum where students from Saltöskolan showed an exhibition about Sweden's history that they made in collaboration with the museum.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also toured an exhibition that showed photographs from the Royal Couple’s previous visits to the county.
Afterward, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited Admiralty Park where they attended a tree-planting ceremony.
The Royal Couple then walked to Stortorget where they met with Blekinge residents who had gathered to greet them.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia also visited Fredrik's Church to watch a Jubilee celebration with musical performances.
In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “Our first joint visit to Blekinge was actually already in March 1976, just three days after our engagement. It is a fond memory - above all, we remember when we were able to participate in the salmon fishing premiere in Mörrumsån. A sportfishing crown jewel!”
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia concluded their county visit with an official lunch at the Governor’s Residence and a visit to Bryggareberget to learn more about the world heritage site of Orlogsstaden Karlskrona.
Queen Silvia wore a repeated outfit with her Hermes bag.
