King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visit Östergötland County
On Thursday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited Östergötland County as part of King Carl-Gustaf’s Jubilee celebrations. The Royal Couple traveled in a horse-drawn procession along Storgatan to the outer courtyard of Linköping Castle.
In the outer courtyard, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended a jubilee event with performances by Agnes Matsdotter, Joyvoice & Hanna Rydman Choir ensembles, Folkungaskolan's music classes and the Hemvärnet's music choir.
In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “When today we celebrate the long lines backward in history, it is with an eye towards tomorrow. Knowledge of the past equips us for the future. We celebrate the Sweden that was, what is, and the Sweden we want to pass on to our children and grandchildren. A big and warm thank you for the nice reception today. “
Afterward, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia planted a lime tree in the Castle’s garden.
The Royal Couple then attended an official lunch hosted by the Governor-General.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia walked in the castle garden where they met guides in period clothing that connected to the history from Birger Jarl onwards. They also saw a photo exhibition with local images of their previous visits to the County.
Queen Silvia wore her Zara jacket with a white shirt, a black skirt, black pumps, and her Chanel bag.
