King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visit Skåne County
On Tuesday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited Skåne County as part of King Carl-Gustaf’s Jubilee celebrations.
They first took the 40th-anniversary Pågatåget to Malmö Central Station where they were briefed about the latest developments in the county.
Upon their arrival, the Royal Couple traveled in a horse-drawn procession through the center of Malmö.
At Malmö Town Hall, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia saw a photo exhibition and King Carl Gustaf unveiled a new bench to commemorate the Jubilee.
Afterward, they attended an official lunch offered by the Governor at his residence.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia then took part in a jubilee event with performances by the Kulturskolan’s Children’s Choir, drum corps from Malmö and Vellinge cultural school among others.
In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “The Queen and I have been all over the world representing Sweden. But nothing compares to traveling around the country and taking part in developments here at home. To meet people and hear about joys and challenges. Therefore, it felt obvious to once again visit all counties and cities of residence. Today, the turn has come to Skåne and Malmö.”
The Royal Couple concluded their day in Malmö at Spillepeng's waste facility where barn swallows have formed a larger colony. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia learned more about the biodiversity work being carried out in Malmö.
Queen Silvia wore a repeated outfit with her Louis Vuitton bag.
