On Wednesday, Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz visited the Duve Institute to mark its 50th anniversary as well as the 50th anniversary of Belgian chemist and physician Christian de Duve being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discoveries with Albert Claude and George Emil Palade on the structural and functional organization of the cell.
