Afterward, the Royal Couple was officially welcomed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and his wife Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller at the National Palace. Following a visit of the Palace, a private lunch took place.

In the afternoon, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia visited the Mexican Senate where they attended a meeting with Mexican parliamentarians.

In the evening, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a banquet. In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “For more than 140 years Mexico has been a very appreciated partner to Sweden. Mexico is our second-largest export market in Latin America after Brazil. We aim to strengthen these trade relations even further during this significant visit. Ladies and gentlemen, we are pleased to be here, not only due to our strong bilateral trade relations but also because we share similar values that further unite our countries. Mexico and Sweden are likeminded regarding gender equality, sustainability, free trade, and democracy. “

On Tuesday, Queen Silvia first wore a new Thalia suit with her Jimmy Choo clutch and her Cartier and Engelbert bracelets.

In the evening, Queen Silvia wore a Maknam gown with her Cartier and Engelbert bracelets.
