Queen Mathilde visits Côte d'Ivoire - Day 1

This week, Queen Mathilde is undertaking a working visit to Côte d’Ivoire in her role as Advocate for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She arrived in Côte d’Ivoire on Sunday evening and was welcomed by Nialé Kaba, Minister for Economy.

Afterward, Queen Mathilde and the First Lady visited the Hôpital Mère-Enfant in Bingerville to learn more about their work with vulnerable mothers and their children, thereby reducing morbidity and mortality among mothers, newborns, children, and adolescents.

She then visited the Cavoequiva NGO where she met girls who have been victims of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or labor exploitation, and who are housed, cared for, and educated by the organization.

Queen Mathilde also took part in a round table discussion at Félix Houphouët-Boigny-Cocody University with young people who are actively committed to Ivorian youth and a more sustainable world.
