The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh visit Nepal - Day 2
On Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh spent their second day in Nepal. The Duchess of Edinburgh first visited the Maternity Wing of Bhaktapur Hospital where she met health workers, new mothers, and volunteers to hear more about the progress being made in the field of maternal health and newborn care.
Afterward, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited Maiti Nepal in Kathmandu which provides support to survivors of human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and gender-based violence.
The Duchess of Edinburgh then took part in a luncheon with Nepalese Women’s Rights activists at Dwarika’s Hotel.
She also visited Ridley Eye Foundation Nepal at Kirtipur Hospital as the Global Ambassador of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness. She heard more about their 'Eyecare Camp', the outreach scheme which works to solve the problems of cataract blindness by providing eyecare services to people living in high-altitude and remote areas of Nepal.
In the evening, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended a reception given by the Ambassador to Nepal, Robert Fenn, at his Residence in Kathmandu.
The Duchess of Edinburgh first wore her Etro dress with her Jimmy Choo pumps and her Sophie Habsburg clutch. She paired the outfit with her Giulia Barela earrings and a Missoma bracelet (with thanks to RoyalBritishFashion).
In the evening, the Duchess of Edinburgh wore her Zimmermann dress with her Penelope Chilvers wedges and her Missoma bracelet.
