Danish State Visit to Finland - Day 3

On Wednesday, King Frederik and Queen Mary concluded their state visit to Finland. They first visited the Espoo Museum of Modern Art (EMMA) with the Presidential Couple where they opened a permanent display with 15 paintings by the Danish artist Poul Gernes.

Afterward, the Royal Couple and the Presidential Couple visited the Arkki School of Architecture for Children and Youth.

They also visited Aalto University where they heard more about the university’s work, including Finland’s first quantum computer and satellite projects. They also attended a signing ceremony between the Niels Bohr Institute and Aalto University.

The Royal Couple and the Presidential Couple then took part in a seminar about green financing followed by a business luncheon where Danish-Finnish business partnerships will be highlighted.

In the afternoon, the Royal Couple and the Presidential Couple visited the Porkkala Garrison in Upinniemi. The base is the Finnish navy’s largest by the Gulf of Finland and consists primarily of the coastal brigade and a special operations detachment.
