Regal Review: The Wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia

Today, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary! They were married on June 13th, 2015 at the Royal Chapel in Stockholm.


After the wedding, the newlywed couple took part in a procession in the streets of Stockholm.

They arrived back to the Royal Palace where they greeted the crowds waiting for them and attend the following reception with their guests.

Princess Sofia wore an Ida Sjöstedt wedding gown made in a crepe in the full page which is duplicated with Italian silk organza. The lace applications in couture lace by José María Ruiz on wedding dress and trailers are hand-cut and then hand embroidered in Ida Sjöstedt's studio in Stockholm. She also wore Charlotte Olympia pumps. Princess Sofia wore a new diamond and emerald tiara that was a gift from the King and Queen.

Queen Silvia wore a pink embroidered gown with Jimmy Choo pumps and a Jimmy Choo clutch. She wore the tiara, earrings and brooch from the Leuchtenberg Saphire Parure.

Crown Princess Victoria wore a H&M Conscious Collection gown with a By Malene Birger clutch. She wore the Connaught Tiara for the first time for her brother’s wedding.

Princess Estelle was a bridesmaid and she wore a bespoke white Ida Sjôstedt dress.

Princess Madeleine wore an Elie Saab pink embroidered gown with an Elie Saab clutch and Jimmy Choo pumps. She wore the Modern Fringe tiara with the Vasa earrings. She had worn the tiara and the earrings for her own wedding.

Princess Leonore wore a hand me down dress with Beberlis gold shoes.

Queen Maxima wore a Jan Taminiau burgundy lace gown with her VBH grey clutch. She wore the tiara, earrings, necklace and bracelet from the Mellerio Ruby Parure.

Queen Margrethe wore a red gown by Birgitte Thaulow with the Baden Palmette Tiara and diamond jewels.

Crown Princess Mary wore a blue sleeveless gown by Birgit Hallstein with Gianvito Rossi pumps and a J.Furmani clutch. She wore the pearl version of her wedding tiara with pearl and diamond earrings.

Princess Marie wore a green Alberta Ferretti gown with Jimmy Choo sandals with her wedding floral tiara.

Queen Sonja wore an off the shoulder yellow pleated gown with Queen Maud’s Pearl Tiara.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a pink top by Norwegian designer Nina Skarra with a floral printed skirt by Temperley London. She also wore red Valentino sandals and a Valentino white clutch. She wore the Diamond Daisy Bandeau which was her wedding tiara with diamonds earrings.

Princess Martha Louise wore a grey sleeveless lace gown by Nora Farah with earrings by Heidi Nesbakken and her 18th birthday gift tiara.

The Countess of Wessex wore a gown by Taťána Kovaříková with an Elie Saab clutch and Jimmy Choo pumps. She wore the Diamond and Aquamarine tiara with a matching aquamarine necklace.

Princess Tatiana wore an off the shoulder gown by Celia Kritharioti with her Giorgio Armani Swarovski sandals. She also wore Danelian earrings and a diamond tiara.


In the evening, Princess Sofia changed into another Ida Sjöstedt gown for the evening reception at the Royal Palace.
