King Felipe and Queen Letizia visit Jaca

Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia continued their tour of Spain as they visited Jaca in the autonomous community of Aragon.

Their visit started at the Old Monastery of San Juan de la Peña near Jaca. During the tour of the monastery, King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited the Pantheon of Nobles, the Masadería (Medieval Pantheon), and the Council room. They also inaugurated the X Conde de Aranda Exhibition Space.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia then traveled to Jaca where they had a walkabout on their way to the Cathedral of Jaca.

At the Cathedral of Jaca, King Felipe and Queen Letizia learned about the tradition of placing a white flag on the highest point of the Cathedral, a symbol that indicates that the city is free of epidemics and that gave free passage to the pilgrims who had to follow the Camino de Santiago.

Following their visit to the Cathedral, the royal couple walked from the Cathedral to the Ice Pavillon which gave them the opportunity to greet even more inhabitants waiting for them in the streets.

At the Ice Pavillon, King Felipe and Queen Letizia held a working meeting with representatives of the Aragón tourism sector, chaired by the president of the Confederation of Hospitality and Tourism Companies of Aragon, Luis Vaquer. During the meeting, the Aragón Tourism Sector Shock Plan was presented to the royal couple as the plan aims to help the tourism sector during the crisis generated by COVID-19.

Letizia wore a new puff sleeve sweater by Massimo Dutti with her Emporio Armani navy trousers and a black Hugo Boss belt. She also debuted new Castaner black wedges. She wore her gold bamboo earrings and her Karen Hallam ring.
