King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria attend the inauguration of Stockholm + 50

Today, King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria attended the inauguration of the Stockholm +50 environmental conference at the Stockholm Fair. They met UN Secretary-General António Guterres before the start of the conference.

In his speech, King Carl Gustaf said: “Fifty years ago, on June fifth in 1972, the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment opened here in Stockholm, at the invitation of the Swedish government.[…]We have come a long way since then. But let me be clear: we do not have fifty more years to turn the development around. On the contrary - time is scarce. According to the IPCC, if we want to limit global warming, the next few years are critical.”

King Carl Gustaf and Crown Princess Victoria attended the first session of the conference during which decision points were discussed before taking part in two bilateral talks with the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, and the President of the UN General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid.

Crown Princess Victoria wore her Dolce & Gabbana dress with her Gianvito Rossi pumps and her Vogt Stockholm clutch. She paired the outfit with her Krueger Jewellery Amiral set and her Epoch watch.
