King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima host lunch marking 10 years of reign

On Wednesday, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima hosted a lunch for 100 people who have contributed to society in a special way to mark the 10th anniversary of King Willem-Alexander’s reign. Princess Beatrix also attended the lunch.

In his speech, King Willem-Alexander said: “When I look back on the past ten years, many images come to mind. Terrible things have happened, such as the MH17 disaster and the corona pandemic. And there are major concerns, such as the war in Ukraine and the nitrogen crisis. But there is also so much beauty.  I regret that we sometimes overlook our main power source, while we are right on top of it. That power source is you.  And with you, all those people who are committed to others.  Very normal. Because you think you should. And because you just do it.”

Queen Maxima wore her Natan cape with a Natan outfit and her Gianvito Rossi pumps.
