The Urban Nature Project aims to transform the Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Garden into an urban biodiversity hub in order to inspire the next generation to care for nature. It will feature outdoor galleries and exhibitions to help children learn more about wildlife and nature.

During her visit, the Duchess of Cambridge heard about the Museum’s plans and fixed an acoustic monitoring device to a cherry tree in the Wildlife Garden. It will record ambient sound to help the Museum investigate patterns of animal activity within the garden.
