Regal Review: The Wedding of King Felipe and Queen Letizia - Pre-Wedding Dinner

Sixteen years ago, a week after the wedding of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, another royal wedding took place in Spain. On May 21th, 2004, a gala dinner was hosted by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia to celebrate the upcoming wedding of then-Prince Felipe and Letizia Ortiz.

Letizia wore a silver off the shoulder gown by Spanish designer Lorenzo Caprile. The train of the gown had sequins.

Queen Sofia wore a gold gown with embroideries on the top and a matching gold clutch.

Queen Margrethe wore a grey off the shoulder embellished gown. It is the same gown she wore at the pre-wedding concert for Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary the week before.

Queen Sonja wore a red embroidered gown with a gold clutch. Princess Martha Louise wore a strapless gown by Wenche Lynche.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a sleeveless blue Valentino gown with a pink VBH clutch and printed pumps.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a gold strapless gown by Elie Saab.

Queen Silvia wore a white floral printed gown that we believe could be by Natan.

Crown Princess Victoria wore a blue sleeveless cape jumpsuit with a draped detail at the waist.

Princess Madeleine wore a strapless grey embroidered column gown with matching accessories.

Princess Caroline wore a Chanel black and white tulle gown with Chanel black pumps and a Chanel bespoke black clutch.

Then-Princess Maxima wore a custom made Valentino gown with a one shoulder strap and satin bows.

Crown Princess Marie-Chantal wore an off the shoulder light blue gown with a light green flower detail with a green embellished clutch and silver strappy sandals.
