Prince Nicolas was christened on October 11, 2015, at the Royal Chapel in Drottningholm Palace. His godparents were Prince Carl Philip, maternal uncle; Natascha Abensberg und Traun, paternal aunt; Henry d'Abo, paternal uncle as husband of Chris's sister Tatjana; Gustaf Magnuson, his mother's paternal cousin; Katarina von Horn, a friend of his parents; and Marco Wajselfisz, a friend of his parents.

The Archbishop of Uppsala, Antje Jackelen, presided over the ceremony. As per tradition the little Prince was also given the Order of the Seraphim by his grandpa.
