Born Mary Elizabeth Donaldson in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, on February 5, 1972, she would go on to graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Tasmania. She met Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark at the Slip Inn in Sydney during the 2000 Olympic Games. They married in May 2004 in Copenhagen and they now have four children together: Crown Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine. She became Queen Mary of Denmark on 14 January 2024 following the proclamation of her husband as King Frederik X.
