Queen Mary

Born Mary Elizabeth Donaldson in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, to John and Henrietta Donaldson on February 5, 1972, she would go on to graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Tasmania. She met Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark at the Slip Inn in Sydney during the 2000 Olympic Games. They married on May 2004 in Copenhagen Cathedral and now have four children together: Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. The family lives in Frederik VIII's Palace in Copenhagen.

Upon her marriage, Mary gave up her dual Australian-United Kingdom citizenship (her parents were Scottish) and converted from Presbyterian to the Church of Denmark. She came Queen Mary of Denmark on 14 January 2024 following the proclamation of her husband as King Frederik X.
