The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit Bradford
Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Bradford to learn more about several projects which support the community and promote cohesion within it, in one of the UK’s most diverse cities.
They first visited the City Hall where they met a group of young people from across the community to hear about life in Bradford. They also met representatives from local employers and businesses who are helping young people into employment. Then, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge did a walkabout to meet the people waiting for them outside of City Hall.
Afterward, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited MyLahore to learn more about the work that the restaurant does to support the community. The restaurant was inspired by Lahore, the food capital of Pakistan, which William and Kate visited last year.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge then visited one of Bradford’s Khidmat Centres, whose main focus is to help the most vulnerable members of the community from minority Page 2 of 6 ethnic backgrounds. To conclude their visit to Bradford, they met with groups supported by Better Start Bradford, which delivers over 20 projects to pregnant women and families with children under the age of 4 before joining a workshop run by Near Neighbours, an organization which brings people together in communities across the UK so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust, and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community that they live in.
For this day in Bradford, Kate wore a new bespoke green Alexander McQueen long coat with a new Zara printed dress. She paired the outfit with her Gianvito Rossi ‘Piper’ pumps, her Aspinal of London bag and the Zeen earrings she wore during the Pakistan tour.
