Duchess of Cambridge marks the end of Hold Still exhibition with a video message

Today, the Duchess of Cambridge marked the end of the Hold Still outdoor exhibition in a video message to thank all those who took part in the project.

In the video, the Duchess of Cambridge said that for her “the most powerful part of the project is that it has shown just how much people and communities have come together and how important we all are to each other.” She also said that she launched the project back in May with the National Portrait Gallery because she “wanted to find a way to allow everyone to share their stories and experiences of lockdown.”

Earlier this week, the Duchess of Cambridge spoke via video call with Johannah Churchill who took the portrait ‘Melanie, March 2020' - showing her colleague Melanie working to set up a COVID clinic in London - which was painted as a mural in Manchester. They were joined by Dr. Edward Cole who also helped set up the clinic.

In the video message, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a red Zara blazer that she first wore during the 2012 Olympics and a new Alex Monroe necklace.

For the video call, Kate wore a new blue cardigan from Boden (with thanks to Shannon Lea)
