Regal Review: The Engagement of Prince Carl-Philip and Princess Sofia
Six years ago, the engagement of Prince Carl-Philip and Sofia Hellqvist was announced by the Swedish royal court. After the announcement, Carl-Philip and Sofia met with journalists in the garden of the royal palace.

Prince Carl-Philip said: “Sofia has today said yes to the question to spend the rest of her life together with me. Today is a very happy day for Sofia and me.”
Sofia’s engagement ring is a round diamond with a diamond surround and a diamond-set split shank band.
The future princess wore a red Roland Mouret sheath dress with her Swarovski necklace and LK Bennett nude pumps.
In the evening, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Sonja hosted a private dinner at Drottningholm Palace for the couple. Sofia’s parents attended the dinner but Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine weren’t present as Chris O’Neill was celebrating his 40th birthday with a private party.
Sofia wore a green sleeveless Roland Mouret sheath dress with her LK Bennett nude pumps and nude clutch.
