Royal Recap: September 13th - September 19th

Welcome to this week’s Royal Recap where we’ll take a look at the events we weren’t able to cover fully this week!

On Monday, King Carl-Gustaf and Queen Silvia delivered several medals and honors at the Royal Palace.

Queen Silvia wore a repeated green dress with her Salvatore Ferragamo black pumps and Cartier bracelet.


On Tuesday, the Countess of Wessex attended an event with blindness prevention charity Orbis UK to launch a £100,000 appeal to deliver 17,000 operations to adults and children across Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and Nepal. The Countess of Wessex is a global ambassador for the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.

She wore a new ME + EM blue floral dress with blue pumps, her Sophie Habsburg blue clutch, and new earrings.

On Wednesday, the Countess of Wessex, as Grand President of St John Ambulance, was presented with the First Bar to the Service Medal to mark her 15 years of service to the Order of St John. 

She wore her ME + EM polka dot dress and the same earrings she wore on Tuesday.

On Thursday, the Countess of Wessex attended the unveiling of a new statue of herself with the Vision Foundation.

The Countess of Wessex wore her Alice Early green dress and her Palenque earrings.


On Wednesday, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited areas that were affected by the floods last July.

Queen Mathilde wore her Natan black and white outfit with her Diane von Furstenberg black clutch, black shoes, and her Rolex watch.

On Sunday, the Belgian royal family took part in “Car-Free Sunday” in Ghent. Prince Gabriel did not take part in the day as he is already studying in England. On Car-Free Sunday, several Belgian cities are car-free and the Belgian royal family took a bike ride around the city.

Queen Mathilde wore a new Dries van Noten embroidered top (with thanks to ModeKoninginMathilde).

Princess Elisabeth wore a grey top with jeans and her Superga navy sneakers. Princess Eléonore wore a blue shirt with jeans and her Nike sneakers.


On Wednesday, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, and Prince Charles visited the “Päiperleksgaart” butterfly garden. 

Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore a blue embroidered top with black trousers and her Cartier watch. Prince Charles wore his Bonpoint slippers.


On Thursday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended two events. She first met with Nancy Braum, the Director General of “Esch 2022, European Capital of Culture” of which the Grand Duchess is Patron. 

Afterward, she visited the Colpach Castle Rehabilitation Center as President of the Luxembourg Red Cross. The center aims to facilitate the family, social, and professional reintegration of patients.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a new Christian Dior coat with a black top, burgundy trousers, and new black pumps. She also carried a new Loewe bag (with thanks to Pablo).

On Friday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa also attended two events. She first met with members of Zonta Luxembourg which presented a check of € 10,000 to the Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchess, to help finance the scholarship for single-parent students created in May 2021. The Zonta Luxembourg committee also awarded the Zonta International Centennial Recognition Award to the Grand Duchess for her commitment to the fight for women’s rights.

Afterward, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the Luxembourg Theater Prizes and Luxembourg Dance Prize award ceremony.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore a black outfit with her Bottega Veneta clutch, Prada pumps, and her MdeU bracelet.


Crown Prince Pavlos, Crown Princess Marie Chantal, Princess Maria-Olympia, and Prince Constantine-Alexios spent time in Paris this week. Crown Princess Marie Chantal posted a photo of Princess Maria-Olympia at a café in Paris on Thursday afternoon.

Princess Maria-Olympia wore a new Prada top with her Lito necklace.

On Thursday evening, the family attended the 90th birthday party of Doris Brynner at a restaurant in Paris.

Crown Princess Marie-Chantal wore a new Prada dress with a Prada bag and Manolo Blahnik pumps.

Princess Maria-Olympia wore a new Khaite dress with Christian Louboutin ankle boots and her Lito necklace.

This weekend, Princess Maria-Olympia posted several photos of their time in Paris on Instagram including a photo of Crown Princess Marie-Chantal celebrating her birthday on Friday.

Crown Princess Marie-Chantal wore a new Isabel Marant top while Princess Maria-Oympia wore a vintage Van Halen ‘Monsters of Rock’ tour from 1988.
