Crown Princess Victoria attends Öland Bridge's 50th anniversary celebrations

On Friday, Crown Princess Victoria attended events marking the 50th anniversary of the Öland Bridge which was inaugurated by then-Crown Prince Carl Gustaf in 1972.

Crown Princess Victoria first visited the Ölandsbron 50 years exhibition at Kalmar Castle. She also visited the Kalmar county museum to see an exhibition about the royal ship Kronan

Crown Princess Victoria then went to the ferry town's port where she made a speech. She said: “Few things are as full of power as a bridge. Strength, as in a stable construction in reinforced concrete. Power, as in the physical, connecting link that a bridge provides. And finally, the power that lies in people being able to move freely – able to travel, discover and meet. Just as it is done here, on Öland and in Kalmar, bound together by this bridge since half a century ago. A bridge that millions of people cross every year, and that means so much to this whole region.”

Crown Princess Victoria wore a By Malina suit with an Andiata top. She paired the outfit with her Marzio ankle boots and her Saint Laurent bag. She also wore an Alexandré de Paris hair clip, her Epoch watch, and bracelets by Kreuger, Ebba Brahe, and Sophie by Sophie.
