Members of the British Royal Family attend Commonwealth Games - Day 1
Members of the British Royal Family were in Birmingham this week to attend the opening ceremony and the first day of events of the Commonwealth Games.
On Thursday evening, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex attended the Opening Ceremony during which the Prince of Wales read a message from the Queen.
On Friday, the Earl and Countess of Wessex first visited the Arena Birmingham, where they met volunteers and Army veterans helping with the Games, before watching the gymnastic morning session.
Afterward, the Earl and Countess of Wessex joined the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence to watch the Rugby Sevens games.
For the opening ceremony, the Countess of Wessex wore her Galvan dress and her Sophie Habsburg clutch.
For the first day of the Games, the Countess of Wessex wore her Peter Pilotto dress with her Penelope Chilvers wedges and a Sophie Habsburg bag. She paired the outfit with her Cartier sunglasses, her Felt necklace, and repeated earrings.
