Queen Letizia attends closing ceremony of the XIV Call for Social Projects
On Tuesday, Queen Letizia attended the closing ceremony of the XIV Call for Social Projects organized by the Santander Bank in Madrid.
Each year, Santander Bank donates money to several social projects from their “Euros from your Payroll” program in which for every euro the employees of the banks donate, the entity contributes another with the aim of promoting projects that improve society. There was a sweet moment during the ceremony as a 91-year-old lady asked Queen Letizia for a hug, which the Queen eagerly gave.
In her speech, Queen Letizia said: “Thank you for inviting me again to this meeting in which, at least for a little while this morning, we have many reasons to look at the kinder side of life. I don't know about you, but of course, I'm going to return home with a different energy and a different feeling. The feeling that things can improve and that it is worth thinking of others, and that is what it is all about, looking at what is happening around us and getting started, observing our surroundings and asking ourselves the question of how we can improve the lives of people who need it.”
This year, the award ceremony honored sixteen projects in five categories: Early Childhood Education, International Cooperation, Disability, Social Inclusion, and Health.
Queen Letizia wore her Hugo Boss top with her Hugo Boss blue skirt. She paired the outfit with her Carolina Herrera pumps and Carolina Herrera clutch as well as her Jose Luis earrings and Karen Hallam ring. It seems her blazer could be by Carolina Herrera as well.
