Crown Princess Mary visits Fiji - Day 1
Following a two-day visit to Vanuatu, Crown Princess Mary started a three-day visit to Fiji to learn more about the consequences of climate change in the Pacific Ocean region. In the afternoon, Crown Princess Mary visited the tent village Nabavatu on Vanua Levu. The village houses internally displaced persons in the wake of the cyclone that struck Fiji in 2020. Crown Princess Mary heard more about UNFPA’s work to safeguard sexual and reproductive health and rights in humanitarian crises as well as about the consequences of climate change on the island.
