Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attends UIA Congress in Paris

On Wednesday, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the Congress of the International Association of Lawyers in Paris, France. The Congress focused on innovation and methodology in humanitarian action, sexual violence in conflict zones, and global child protection.

In her opening speech, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa congratulated the lawyers "for their commitment to addressing the most crucial issues of our time. The topics you will examine – environmental and social responsibilities, artificial intelligence – are at the heart of the profound transformations of our societies, our economy, and our conception of law."

In the evening, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the opening ceremony of the congress at Maison UNESCO. In her speech, she said that rape is a weapon of war is "the cheapest weapon known to man. Aimed at intimidating, degrading, and terrorizing the population, rape is a social cluster bomb whose consequences are profoundly devastating for entire generations." Grand Duchess Maria Teresa is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, UNICEF Eminent Advocate for Children, and champion of the fight against sexual violence.

Grand Duchess Maria Teresa wore her Max Mara blazer with her Zadig et Voltaire blouse and burgundy trousers. She paired the outfit with her Prada pumps and her Bottega Veneta bag.
