British Royal Family attends Trooping the Colour

On Saturday, members of the British Royal Family attended the traditional Trooping the Colour parade, the annual ceremonial event in honor of the official birthday of the British sovereign.

This impressive display of pageantry takes place annually on a Saturday in June, performed by His Majesty’s personal troops of the Household Division on Horse Guards Parade. Over 1,400 officers and soldiers form the parade, together with two hundred horses; over four hundred musicians from ten bands and Corps of Drums march and play in unison.

The streets are lined with crowds waving flags as the parade moves from Buckingham Palace and down The Mall to Horse Guard's Parade, alongside Members of the Royal Family on horseback and in carriages. The display closes with an RAF fly-past, watched by Members of the Royal Family from Buckingham Palace balcony.

This year the event was the first time the Princess of Wales has worked in 2024 following her cancer diagnosis and beginning chemotherapy treatment. For this special occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a black and white Jenny Packham dress. She paired this with a Philip Treacy saucer hat, Jimmy Choo Romy pumps, Mulberry clutch and her Casandra Goad pearl earrings.
