Crown Princess Mette-Marit celebrates Stavanger's 900th anniversary

On Saturday, Crown Princess Mette-Marit visited Stavanger to attend the celebrations of its 900th anniversary.

In her speech, Crown Princess Mette-Marit said: “With so much outside influence that Stavanger has been subject to over the past 900 years, the city could have developed a somewhat shaky identity. Instead, openness, a willingness to adapt, and diversity have become the identity of the city and those who live here.  Something we can learn from Stavanger is this: To be open to what is new and foreign, to listen, to absorb – without losing yourself. Stavanger has shown us that a diversity of opinions and impulses can create height and creativity.”

Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore her Tome sleeveless trench coat over an Ahlvar Gallery blouse and her Gabriela Hearst trousers. She paired the outfit with her Christian Louboutin pumps and her Aspinal of London clutch. She also wore repeated earrings and her Cartier ring.
