King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia celebrate 500th anniversary of the Royal Court Orchestra

On Sunday, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended a concert to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Royal Court Orchestra. Princess Christina and her husband, Tord Magnuson, were also in attendance. The Royal Court Orchestra was founded in 1526 when Gustav Vasa employed “12 pipers and trumpeters” for the court, which laid the foundation for a court orchestra.

Queen Silvia wore her Weill suit with her Brunate pumps.
