Queen Silvia marks Ersta Diakoni's 175th anniversary
On Sunday, Queen Silvia attended Ersta Diakoni's 175th anniversary celebration held at Stockholm’s Concert Hall.
In her speech, Queen Silvia said: “For those of us living in today's Sweden, the right to healthcare and social care is self-evident. But when Ersta Diakonie started its operations in 1851, the reality was different. Ersta Diakonie was one of the movements that drove the development towards a more humane society where care and welfare would be available to everyone, regardless of economic or social status. It was also a place where women could educate themselves, work and create their own professional identity. Ersta Diakonie's history is therefore also part of Sweden's history.”
Queen Silvia wore her Weill jacket with a navy dress, a navy clutch, and navy pumps. She also wore her Cartier and Engelbert Stockholm bracelets.
