The Duchess of Edinburgh visits Cumbria - Day 1

On Tuesday, the Duchess of Edinburgh started a two-day visit to Cumbria. She attended several engagements focused on the rural economy and young people in agriculture.

The Duchess of Edinburgh first visited Whins Farm as Patron of the Addington Fund which helps farming families with affordable housing. The new farm is part of a program the organization launched to help first-generation farmers secure tenancies.

Afterward, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited Home Grown Here, a local food marketplace, to hear more about community-led approaches to sustainable food production.

The Duchess of Edinburgh then visited the Butchers Arms pub where she helped prepare meals with produce from Home Grown Here.

Finally, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Royal Countryside Fund where she met with representatives of the organization as well as representatives of the West Lakeland Farmer-Led Nature Recovery initiative and the Penrith Young Farmers.

The Duchess of Edinburgh wore her ME and EM jacket with her Veronica Beard shirt, her Paige trousers, and Meindl boots. She also wore her Giulia Barela earrings and her Asprey London bracelet.
