Confirmation of Princess Ingrid Alexandra
Today, the Norwegian royal family attended the confirmation of Princess Ingrid-Alexandra. Her royal godparents King Felipe, Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Prince Frederik - joined by Crown Princess Mary and Prince Christian - also attended the ceremony and the following lunch.
To celebrate her confirmation, King Harald and Queen Sonja gifted a new custom made bunad to Princess Ingrid Alexandra! This bunad is a traditional design from Telemark, where Queen Sonja is from. During the design process, Crown Princess Mette-Marit asked the Queen if she would consider contributing her own embroidery to the design, which she agreed to. The Queen’s work can be seen on the traditional socks.
The Queen and Princess Ingrid have a special bond, which many have commented on over the years. During the lunch, the Queen gave a touching speech to her granddaughter.
Queen Sonja, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Martha-Louise all wore bunads to the ceremony.
Crown Princess Victoria wore a new dress by Jennifer Blom and a lilac headpiece by Örjan Jakobsson. She paired her outfit with her Abro foldover clutch, matching Gianvito Rossi nude pumps and her Luc of Sweden horseshoes necklace.
Crown Princess Mary wore her Zimmermann floral eyelet dress which she paired with a new purple headpiece and nude pumps. She also wore her Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet.
In the evening, a private dinner was held at Skaugum.
For this dinner, Crown Princess Mette Marit wore a new gown from Zimmermann while Princess Ingrid Alexandra became the 3rd royal to wear this gown from Self Portrait.
