Regal Review: Queen Beatrix's Pre-Abdication Gala Dinner
Seven years ago, on April 30th, 2013, Queen Beatrix abdicated in favor of her son then-Crown Prince Willem-Alexander. Several events were hosted by the Royal family to celebrate the occasion with several foreign royal guests in attendance. On the eve of her abdication, Queen Beatrix - wearing the Wurttemberg Ornate Pearl Tiara- hosted one last gala dinner at the Rijksmuseum.
For her last gala dinner as Crown Princess, Maxima repeated a Valentino Haute Couture red embellished ruffle gown that she had first wore in 2008 for Prince Charles’s 60th birthday. She paired the gown with matching red accessories and the Dutch Diamond Bandeau and matching necklace.
Princess Mabel wore a red fringe Viktor & Rolf gown with matching red clutch and sandals. She wore the all-diamond small version of the Mellerio Sapphire Tiara. Princess Laurentien wore a blue off the shoulder gown with the Dutch Aquamarine tiara and the bow brooch from the Stuart parure.
Princess Letizia wore a black lace Felipe Varela gown with a black clutch and black Magrit shoes. She wore the Mellerio Floral Tiara.
Crown Princess Victoria wore a purple Elie Saab sleeveless gown with her LK Bennett ‘Beverly’ clutch and By Malene Birger embellished pumps. She also wore part of the Napoleonic Amethyst Parure.
Crown Princess Mary wore her pink lace overlay Birgit Hallstein gown with her Prada pink satin pumps and her Bottega Veneta pink satin clutch. She wore her diamond and pearl wedding tiara.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a bespoke Giambattista Valli gown from the Spring 2013 collection with a Valentino pink clutch and Gianvito Rossi pink patent leather sandals. She wore the Diamond Daisy bandeau.
Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie wore a stunning Elie Saab blue beaded gown with a matching shawl, silver accessories and Grand Duchess Marie-Adélaïde's Tiara.
