King Felipe and Queen Letizia visit Balearic Islands
Today, King Felipe and Queen Letizia continued their small tour in the Autonomous Communities to support the recovery of tourist, economic, and social activity, after the pandemic. After the Canary Islands earlier this week, they were in the Balearic Islands today.
In Majorca, King Felipe and Queen Letizia visited the Iberostar Cristina hotel, where the Iberostar Group has launched a pilot plan in which they offer free accommodation in this establishment to their employees and relatives of the island to test the effectiveness of its health protocols against COVID-19, before its reopening to tourists. At the hotel, the King and Queen had several meetings to learn about the economic and social impact of the pandemic on the tourism sector.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia then held a meeting with representatives of EAPN Balearic Islands - Network for Social Inclusion which is an association made up of thirty entities that work in the community to eradicate poverty and social exclusion. They also held a meeting with the president, Josep Vicens, and representatives of the Cercle d'Economía de Mallorca where the impact and the need to articulate recovery plans on the islands after the pandemic were analyzed.
Afterward, King Felipe and Queen Letizia went to the beach of S´Arenal and they toured the promenade of Playa de Palma where they met tourists and locals. At the Riu Concordia hotel, the royal couple about sanitary and contingency protocols that guarantee sanitary security in the hotel establishment
Queen Letizia wore her green printed Maje dress with her Mint & Rose wedges. She wore her gold bamboo earrings and her Karen Hallam ring.
