Today, King Harald, Queen Sonja, and Crown Prince Haakon attended the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo. While the ceremony took place in its usual form, the gala dinner was canceled because of COVID-19. Crown Princess Mette-Marit also did not attend the event as she has a cold.

The 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winners are journalist Maria Ressa from the Philippines and Dmitry Muratov from Russia. They are recognized for their effort for freedom of expression.

During the ceremony, the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize winner was also honored. Indeed, the World Food Program had to accept their prize digitally last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The director of WFP David Beasley was invited to make a speech during this year’s ceremony.

Queen Sonja wore her Emilio Pucci jacket with a black skirt, Peter Kaiser shoes, and her Salvatore Ferragamo bag.
