Princess Madeleine becomes Honorary Vice-President of the World Childhood Foundation
Today, it has been announced that Princess Madeleine has accepted Queen Silvia’s invitation to become Honorary Vice-President of the World Childhood Foundation which was created by the Queen. Princess Madeleine has worked with the Foundation for several years now and will now lead its work with Queen Silvia who is the Honorary President.
Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine also recorded a video message in English to send holidays greetings to the members of the Foundation and to announce the news of Princess Madeleine’s new role. To Queen Silvia, Princess Madeleine said: “I am truly honored and also so happy for the trust you have in me. These are some big shoes to fill but I promise you I will do my very best to keep your vision for Childhood.” She also thanked the Childhood family for their support. Queen Silvia, who is celebrating her 78th birthday today, said she could not have asked for a better birthday gift than this.
Queen Silvia wore a pink dress with her Cartier bracelet.
